The rapidly growing GLOBAL Indian Aerospace sector will generate huge demand for IT and BPO services. Sensing a business opportunity, IT and BPO firms, namely Wipro, Infosys, Satyam and TCS are exhibiting at Aero India 2007.

Located in a caravan-like outdoor stand at the exhibition, Wipro, among India's top IT firms look set to ride the crest of the anticipated boom in Aerospace IT services outsourcing.

In an exclusive briefing to www.aeroindianews.com the official E-magazine of Aero India 2007, Wipro executive - Vittal Vashist - General Manager, Manufacturing Solutions (Aerospace & Defense industries) said that in terms of growth potential, the BPO industry for Aerospace was on its "0th" year which means it can only grow and boom from here on.

In the IT services, Wipro offered application development and maintenance, application integration and enterprise business integration. Its services spanned a wide range of pure IT services including portals and content management and ERP implementation & Infrastructure services management.

The company had the expertise and quality systems in place to offer IT services to the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) for civil aircraft. It was already offering such services to some of its international clients and was keen to partner international Aerospace giants.

It was keen to implement concepts in collaborative manufacturing which it had tried out in industries such as automotive to the Aerospace sector. This meant coordinating design, manufacturing and procurement activities from several locations seamlessly.

The pure play IT services area for the Aerospace industry was emerging rapidly into a combination of nearshore, onsite and offshore services for Aerospace OEMs and their suppliers.
