For the first time in India, Bell will
be joining with fellow Textron companies, Cessna and Textron Systems to
participate in the air show and showcase a wider range of Textron
corporate products.
Bell’s portion
of the display will include small military and commercial helicopter
models, along with a full-scale model of the Armed 407, the model
currently in the running as the replacement helicopter for the Indian
Army’s Reconnaissance and Observation Helicopter Program.
Bell will have
a high level delegation attending the show this year. This will include:
Mr. Bob Fitzpatrick, Sr. VP of Marketing and Sales; Mr. Max Wiley, VP of
Asia; Mr. Mike Cox, VP of Communications; Mr. Vern Bennett, Executive
Director of Business Ventures; Mr. Jay Ortiz, Director Army Helicopter
Program; Mr. Greg Hubbard, Director of International Communications; Mr.
Jerry Welch, Manager of Exhibits. Additionally the Bell India personnel
of Mr. BS Singh Deo, MD of Bell Helicopter India and Mr. BK Malik, Sales
Manager.
This is the
fourth time Bell has participated in the Aero India air show and considers
it one of the major shows it will attend this year. We are displaying a
combination of both military and commercial products that reflects our
balanced approach to the helicopter business. With 73 helicopters flying
in India and with over 50% of the commercial market, Bell sees a bright
future for our products in India. Bell will showcase the versatile 407, a
best seller in the commercial market, and our candidate for the Army
program.
Bell is
currently exploring the possibility of establishing a training center in
India, and through a recently signed MOU, is exploring expanding our
relationship with HAL. HAL recently had a 407 assembled at their facility
in Bangalore for one of our Indian customers, so they have had the
experience of seeing the craftsmanship and ease of assembly of the Bell
helicopter first hand.
Bell’s
globalization efforts are in full bloom and actively looking for long-term
partners that can help us meet the rising worldwide demand for our
helicopters.
Bell is
committed to helping develop the infrastructure that can support the
rotorcraft industry from top to bottom and has participated in conference,
workshops and privately funded initiatives to help our partners develop a
robust and socially responsible industry. |
